Hi, I’m Amanda Lim – a leading voice in maternal strength, metabolic health clinician, and staunch advocate of redefining what modern motherhood demands of women–and what women should demand in return.
For two decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of strength science, behavior change, and women’s health. And across gyms, clinics, and boardrooms, I keep seeing the same disconnect: highly capable women asked to slow down at precisely the moment they were being asked to do the hardest physical work of their lives: becoming mothers.
Preganancy and postpartum have been treated as a time to protect and insulate women. I believe it is a time to prepare and equip them for what’s next.
My work challenges the outdated idea that motherhood automatically (or inevitably) diminishes a woman’s physical and mental capacity. I help women approach pregnancy as a powerful physiological window and postpartum as a time of intentional rebuilding that links directly to decades of future well-being.
Movement has anchored my life since my early days as a competitive gymnast in Illinois. As an adult, I’ve competed in marathons, triathlons, and strength competitions – including while pregnant – and one year after my third child, I ranked among the top athletes in my CrossFit division in Asia. But my credibility is built in the clinic as much as on the competition floor: I have guided thousands of women to stronger bodies and better health since 2006.
Today, I run Singapore’s first metabolic health center, LIFT Clinic, where I work with moms, doctors, corporates, and communities to advance an evidence-based model of women’s health. Through clinical practice, global media contributions, public speaking, and my award-winning women’s health podcast The Forties Formula, I translate emerging science into practical strategy for women across every life stage.
Because motherhood was never designed to erase women. It’s an opportunity to elevate them. We are entering a new era that recognizes strength and muscle as the baseline in maternal health – and I’m ready to lead the charge.
I write for women first, as a fiercely informed mother who gets both the science and the struggle. And in doing so, I strive to shape the future of motherhood while raising the standard of care in women’s health. If you’re here for that, I’m here for you.
Let’s rebuild motherhood—together.
P.S. If my story connects with you and you want to explore how working with me could help you get closer to the life you really want,
